Cruisers Running Club
The Canyon Creek Cruisers promotes fitness and community involvement for students in third through fifth grades. Students participate in after-school jogs in the neighborhood with adult supervision during the fall and spring. Optional community fundraiser 5Ks are shared with the runners if they want to challenge themselves while supporting our community!
Garden Club
We want to provide an opportunity for students to learn responsibly, patience, and critical thinking. Our hope is to foster a connection and appreciation for nature through hands-on exploration and experiences. We are learning about soil layers, gardening tools, the planting process, watering, weeding, and how/when to harvest. Our fourth and fifth graders start our fall gardens, and the first through third graders take over in the spring. We donate our produce to the Garden Club families and Canyon Creek staff. The students are excited about all the new things planted this season and can’t wait to give back to our community!
Math Wings
Fourth and fifth graders compete in three rounds of competitions throughout the year in which they solve challenging and rigorous math problems. Math Wings members practice once a week to prepare for the fall, winter and spring competitions. Math Wings is a yearlong commitment.
